In a showcase event in Singapore on Thursday, Netflix announced five new original anime series and Movies in Asia, including 2 revolving round Pacific Rim and Modified Carbon.
The former comes from the heads of Craig Kyle (Thor: Ragnarok) and Greg Johnson (X-Men: Evolution), that will function as co-showrunners, while the latter is a spin-off characteristic from Cowboy Bebop writer Dai Sato and Tsukasa Kondo.
The Pacific Rim anime show by Netflix will”expand upon the story of the first two live action movies and follow two sisters — an idealistic teenage boy and his naïve younger sister — who are made to pilot an abandoned Jaeger across a hostile landscape in a desperate effort to find their missing parents”. Legendary Entertainment, which will be behind the Pacific Rim films, will create the collection.
In terms of the Modified Carbon anime attribute, it will be set in precisely the same universe as the live-action series that debuted earlier this year and”will investigate new elements of this narrative mythology”. Animation studio Anima will handle the job. Meanwhile, the Altered Carbon season 2 is now in production with Anthony Mackie (Avengers: Infinity War) in the lead character.

The first is put in postsecondary Japan in which a young couple is struggling to live in the Earth, the next is an original anime inspired by a samurai of African origin, together with Lakeith Stanfield (Atlanta, Death Note) as one of those voice actors, although the third is based on a Philippine graphic novel with DC cartoon series veteran Jay Oliva as executive producer.
